ACCELEROMETERS FOR CIRCUIT BREAKERS – ACC-50g / ACC-500g

Ref: ACC-50g / ACC-500g

The Zensol accelerometers are designed for the measurement of mechanical vibrations and movement dynamics in circuit breakers during operation. They are used to capture the mechanical response of switching systems during opening and closing sequences, enabling detailed analysis of breaker behavior in high-voltage maintenance and diagnostic testing.

These sensors are available in multiple measurement ranges (50 g, and 500 g), allowing adaptation to different levels of mechanical intensity depending on the type of circuit breaker and test conditions. Each version provides a proportional analog output signal compatible with Zensol acquisition systems.

Installed directly on the breaker mechanism, the accelerometers measure vibration and movement generated during switching operations. This data is used to analyze timing consistency, mechanical synchronization, and dynamic behavior of the operating mechanism.
When used with Zensol CBV test systems, acceleration signals are recorded and synchronized with electrical measurements such as coil current, auxiliary contacts, and operating voltage. This enables complete correlation between mechanical motion and electrical control signals during breaker operation.

The accelerometers are commonly used in circuit breaker commissioning, maintenance, and diagnostic applications in substations. They provide critical information on mechanical performance and help identify irregularities such as delayed movement, mechanical friction, or abnormal operating behavior.

By combining multiple measurement ranges and direct integration with Zensol testing platforms, the ACC series provides a reliable solution for mechanical condition monitoring and motion analysis of high-voltage circuit breakers.
